These are the primary steps you can expect on an Expert Call.
-
Receive an invite:
GLG Teams work with Clients to assess the target area of expertise and insight to inform how we invite experts. Once that’s agreed upon, they’ll review the profiles, past qualifying questions and projects to determine who would be a good fit and invite them.
-
Review and either accept or decline a project:
If you’re interested in participating in the project, we recommend acting fast and by accepting the project and answering the project (screening) questions. Our Clients are interested in learning about your experience, so include details like timeframes, practice areas, models or applications you’re familiar with to demonstrate your background and concentrate less on sharing insights. Our system will pre-populate answers to screening questions based on your previous responses—making the process faster as you continue to applying to projects over time. From there, the project team will review your responses and update the “Status” of the project as they progress, which you can view online under the Project > Status section of your profile.
If you aren’t interested in project, maybe due to lack of experience, limited bandwidth or a conflict of interest, you’re encouraged to decline the project to avoid follow-up emails and to inform future invites.
You can also view additional projects under “Opportunities” and accept any you’re interested in.
-
Client decision:
If your responses are consistent with what our Client is looking for, we’ll summarize your experience and share that and your responses with them. They may ask for additional information to inform their decision, and they’ll ask to schedule calls based on these details.
-
Scheduling coordination:
We’ll ask you to provide your availability when you accept the project and the project team will reach out to confirm and schedule if our Client wants to proceed with booking a call. Having your availability at the start of the project helps us to move faster and coordinate the call with fewer touchpoints.
-
Join the call:
You’ll receive call details from the project team and on the calendar invite. We recommend that you minimize distractions and background noise and make sure to have stable connectivity before dialing in.Since you were selected based on your existing expertise, no preparation work is necessary unless you’re notified otherwise.
-
Request payment:
Shortly after the call ends, we’ll email you a link that you can use to request payment. It’s also available on your profile home under “Payment > Status”. You will need to review it and request payment. If it’s your first project, you can connect your bank account by setting up a Payment Account or opt to receive a gift card.
